About Governance Center
Practical infrastructure and research for communities that govern themselves.
Governance Center exists to help communities make legitimate decisions and keep a record people can trust. We build the workspace and publish the practical guidance boards need to use it well.
Our founding mission
One mission, two practices
The product team builds a digital city hall: roster, notices, meetings, member access, verified decisions, and records in one connected workspace. The research team studies the laws, operating practices, and participation patterns that make those processes legitimate.
Each practice sharpens the other, but research conclusions remain evidence-led. Governance Center is a product of Syft8, Inc.
Editorial Principles
Accuracy
We cite sources, reference data, and strive for factual precision in every piece we publish. When we get something wrong, we correct it openly.
Independence
Our research follows the evidence. Product priorities do not decide our conclusions, and our analysis covers the full governance landscape.
Practical Value
Actionable insights, not academic theory. Every article and white paper is written with practitioners in mind: board members, property managers, and governance professionals.
Transparency
We explain our methods, link primary sources, date time-sensitive claims, and publish material corrections when the record changes.
